The Fed's Injecting Reserves Into the Banking System
Banks don't lend reserves to their retail customers. Reserves are all locked up at the Fed, not even in the banks. They have no impact on the economy but it did pose a bit of a problem because when the central banks balance sheets just exploded they went to trillions and trillions of dollars.
