Churdic's Ore?

It seems like Churdic's Ore might have been occupied by Brits following his win. And that these same Brits put up a fight against his nephews. Or maybe the scribes got it wrong and Stuff and Whitgar fought other Saxons that were living with Brits and reconquered the area. But don't forget that this also was supposed to be happening in the so-called period of Gildazian peace. So this whole thing is rather odd.
