CHAPTER

The Origins of the Prayers Against Plague

More people die from diseases of all sorts including plagues then die in battle or even from wounds. Plagues don't figure there what happened to those who believed it was divine and did they think that prayer could mitigate it or uh see it off do we have any evidence any of any accounts of that? There aren't any so for example from egypt we have papari fragments from the seventh century with prayers on them asking god to spare them from the ravages of the muslims or the arabs but there's no reference at least there's no evidence of prayers for um protection against plague that i'm aware of.
