I think that's something I've seen often get misunderstood by engineering leaders who, as you mentioned, are so accustomed to trusting system data for hard facts about how systems behave or processes behave. So it feels like there's still some learning about the field of psychometrics that's needed across the industry. You can ask your system what percentage of your files or inversion control, but your system can only tell you or like what files are inversion control. No system can ever tell you it will not have visibility to the files that it never sees, that it never touches. It just can't.
