The Importance of Focusing on the Difficult Problem
With an ADHD brain, generally you don't have executive functioning. For us, nothing is ever discarded immediately. So we're processing all the things at once and it's not necessarily in the hierarchy that a neurotypical brain would be. I'm not kidding when I say that I cannot drive a car in silence. Even if it's super quiet, because it forces me to have that background noise for my brain to take care of so that I focus on what I'm doing.
