IPCC doesn't do probabilistic forecasts and uses these like five reference scenarios is because they don't think they can hit their level of scientific rigor when it comes to forecasting. If that was directly given by the IPCC that would be pretty amazing yeah so zooming out one thing I was wondering about is what it might look like to have some kind of world dashboard for figuring out where the world seems to be headed on a really you know great trajectory for future generations or maybe things are looking a little shakeier. It feels like right now whenever the doomsday clock is updated it's being framed and the way it's being presented it can always go up, he says.
