Is Healthcare a Sacramental Profession?
There is a small incentive in Australia to bulk bill patients, but that incentive is ridiculously low. Essentially if a doctor bulk bills someone, they would have to do it at cost price. I don't understand why we ask healthcare workers to work for free. And this happens a lot in the public hospital system. Nurses, junior doctors are expected to work beyond their hours for free. In my opinion, whether you're a doctor, nurse, receptionist, whatever, it's a noble profession, but it's a profession. It's a profession where you trade your income for time or time for income, and you get paid, and that helps you live a life.
