"It's called the chameleon effect. When you start imitating someone else's accent, which is sometimes like if you might speak to someone with a French accent or you know, a Japanese accent," she says. "What I would recommend is let's sort of conversation and maybe tell me what it is that you do ... And then I can kind of like give you more directions as to... what you are doing that might be slightly different than what English is expecting you to do."
