The Distinction of Christianity From the Classical Ethos
Many parts of Christian doctrine draw up elements of different religious traditions that had existed before Christianity. Rene Girard is a really good way to see how Christianity is fundamentally different from everything that came before. Glenn Scrivener has a book called The Air We Breathe and all of this emphasizes, highlights the fact that there are some aspects of classical antiquity that are radically altered by Christianity.
