Can You Use Punishment to Change Behavior?

The idea is that if you do something you're not supposed to do, or do something you don't really want to do, you get punished for it. But i think there's a very big difference between someone else applying the punishment and you punishing yourself. Although they sav reward is a better way to modify behaviour, it's not always possible to use it. If your child misbehaves, you might put them in a time out or take away something they really like for a while. I think that's still to be demonstratedi yes.
