Engage With the Feedback or Not?
I do feel like there's a decision here on whether to engage with the feedback or not. You could try to turn around their impression of you by working to understand why the impression is the way it is and changing that. Or you could try to say, nah, you're wrong. And those feel very different. This could be your manager preparing to put you on a performance improvement plan, which is preparing to fire you in most cases. Usually there's like a strong warning ahead of time, not always, but sometimes.
