When we last left Mormonism, the founder of arguably the world's most successful new religion had just been assassinated by an angry mob while under lock and key for destroying a printing press. This is where the crime comes in specifically when it comes to our tale of Mormonism. And so now that Mormonism's first leader was dead, someone had to step up to lead the Mormons to wherever their next destination was going to be. But as such, William was no match for the man who had essentially founded and built in a vu.
