The Problem With Penal Substitution
penal substitution can't really capture this public verses private distinction, correct? Ok. So one other objection that we've raised in in he literature is, i guess we've called it the somatic objection to penal substitution. If if you take it that, for example, tha that christ's somatic death is his taking on the penalty. And so in in doing that, he is paying our debt off for us. He's paying our debt of punishment. The problem is, is that it least am that if christ dies, and that's what is actually taking our debt so that we don't have to take it. I mean, but that's correct, unless i'm wrong, right
