The words that should challenge us are these. If god is for us, why is all this happening to us? And it's not just an ancient question. Two weeks ago, in our home, i think of the of the woman whos husband had abandoned her after decades of marriage. As she was moving out of the home in which she had lived with him and raised their children, she fell on the stairs, shattering bonesand said to my wife, honestly, but guiltily, why did god want this?
