The movie, of course, has a cute tact on happy ending, as most of frank capper's movies do. But you know, spoiler alert, i'm going to talk about how the movie ends. The bailey building alone lose eight thousand dollars in cash. It's significant that this tacked on happy ending on christmas eve only resolves the immediate monetary issue. There is still the danger of suspicion or prosecution for embezzlement or theft. And more fundamentally than that, george bailey's life does not change. It's still just as constricted and as stifling as it was before. All that's happened is that george, ironically, has now trained himself
