During the Spanish Civil War, the international brigades were something that the common turn could trumpet as working class solidarity in action. After the war, obviously, you have this new relationship with Nazi Germany, and so everything's on the down low. And I think the interesting after the war is that that thing that's been put back in the box is taken out again. The International Brigades are once again heroes in the Soviet bloc.
