I do completely understand why people would be worried about cheating. I think ultimately faculty members use writing as a way to get inside their students heads and figure out what they're thinking, right? We hear that all the time. Writing is thinking and the process of writing is thinking. So we want our students to learn how to think through the act of writing. But there's a different type of meaning making happening with numbers than there are with words.
