Is the Blood Brain Barrier a Cause of Aseimers?
The theory states that larger lipids might enter the brain through the damaged barrier. The brain can't process these like it does other substances, and they could start building up in the brain. That build up could lead to serious effects, like what brain shrink age, plac narrow fibre tangles are described as. It is still just a theory, but researchers say it makes it clear how important it is to protect the blood brain barrier. And while there's not much we can do after the blood brain Barrier is damaged to reverse the condition, we can limit these kinds of lipids to mitigate the effects.
