The Ethics of Liberalism
The ethics represent the should, whereas the strategy represents the how. When we have a clearly defined ethics, then we can filter out bad strategies very effectively. As soon as a strategy in in its application, would break one of our ethical principles, it is no longer a suitable strategy. And so the ends do not justify the means.
