The High Middle Ages
The use of reason by these scholastics would dramatically change the limits of permissible inquiry. This would create the foundation for later scientific break throughs and indeed become emblematic of western civilization as such a killor ap had been developed. The high middle ages would not yet completely invert the relationship between reson and revelation. It were still unthinkable to reject christian doctrines.
