The Importance of Cultural Exchange
In the middle ages, there are these incredibly distant connections and influences that are occurring across space. And so whole sets of crafts persons that are described in places like the mari archive who are literally, at times, bunked within the quarters of a palace together. So you can imagine some barber, some acrobat, some architect, all these individuals coming from different places,. sharing stories about the places they come from. They share traits and practices that would have been considered foreign. But doesn't necessarily mean that these individuals were seeing regular and sustained combat.
