The World Futures Study Federation is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The theme of the conference explores liminalities, an anthropological term which refers to transition between two stages. Liminal rituals in anthropology are usually transitional rituals when people transition from one life stage to another. "We think that it's very appropriate because we are very much in between different words now," says founder and chief executive of WFSF Dr David Hoyle.
