Is There a Creative Playground for iOS?

iOS is an extreme example, right? Everything is completely locked down. And you would never have something like Dropbox growing up on a platform like iOS,. Since even if someone had the idea, they couldn't realize it no matter how much effort they put into it. To me, that kind of creativity matters a lot. I'm almost a little disheartened to see Apple is dropping a ball on that. But who knows? Maybe there's a curveball common for not a sports metaphor.
