An anti-abortion activist started an evangelical nonprofit based in Washington, D.C. He says conservative supporters of his nonprofit got to rub shoulders with the justices at social events. Schenk dubbed these operatives his stealth missionaries. The rights became especially close with Justice Alito and his wife; they even sat inside the Supreme Court chamber during oral argument.
