The Importance of Max Grief
Bill Duke is playing a really, really wooden cardboard cutout role of just the hard-bitten black guy that doesn't laugh. But then all of a sudden he transforms into the heart and soul of the movie. He's kind of got the hardest acting challenge of anybody because we see him get truly unhinged over the course of the film. I mean, he is the, that role went from two dimensions to four dimensions.
