There is a sense in which the prison is just to microcosm of the nation state and its proliferation of incarceration. And that is what feels troubling, you see, to dance with activism. Activism seems to be caught up in the politics of recognition, a politics of, hey, nation state, acknowledge me too. You know, acknowledge see me as well.
