What Is Hyper Inflation?
hyper inflation occurs when the rate of inflation is 50 % or more in a single month. By that standard, if you go to the store after a month and the jelly beans that used to cost a dollar now cost two dollars, then that's more than 50 % of an increase. The international accounting standards board has proposed a different set of criteria for hyper inflation. One of the indicators they use is a cumulative rate of inflation of 100 % over a three year period. In actuality, you'd only need a 26% inflation rate for prices double in three years.
