The Myth of the Surfdom on Peasants
In England they were called villains. This is the origin of the word villain that we know today. A lord was in charge of a surf, had some control over their bodies and that they could punish them according to the law. Things like premonaut to that idea where a lord could sleep with a bride on the first night never existed. It wasn't legal. So that's just a little bit of background on surfdom on peasants in the Middle Ages. And let's get into some of the myths here.
