A liberal society can support a community of people who are committed to liberal principles in general, even if they disagree about what the exact right mix is. "We have to have a healthy skepticism of the power we're handing over to a state authority," he says. The classical liberal tradition wants an abundance of freedom across all four dimensions; conservatives tend to want there to be at least some old school conservatives.
