The Future of Foldables
Global foldable shipments grew year over year by 64% to 2.5 million units in Q1, 2023. A lot of this growth was driven by the Chinese market which even though that market overall saw a smartphone market drop of 8%. Samsung has also gained quite a bit of share in the Chinese market with their Chinese variants of the Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4. Apple is expected to enter the foldable market in 2025.
