Revivalism Takes a Lot of Extra Time
I think one of the things about a lot of, you know, forms of a revivalism is that it does take spare time. My friend, Jonathan Calvio posted a really helpful thread that I thought spoke to that. He's a sociologist of religion at Candler School of Theology. And he talks about how non white and especially working class folks don't have the resources to put that on. So they may be experiencing tremendous amounts of spiritual renewal and revival, but they also have to go to work.
