The Problem With Public Schools

In the 1930s and 1940s, we wanted to get as many Americans as possible into homeownership. Why? So they wouldn't become communists. And if you were a homeowner, it moved you into the middle class. In communism, no one's owning property except the state. The more private ownership of property you have, the less likely people are going to be drawn to a communist kind of message or system.
