Doctors often misdiagnose type 1, thin, normal size looks like they are an athlete or something like that. You'd be surprised how many people I've spoken to who are dismissed at their diagnosis. One of their first questions was, how do you even know I'm a type 1? Nobody does antibody testing right away for you. It is not uncommon at all.
