The History of Stonehenge

There are indications that the moon was also important particularly in the first phase of Stonehenge. The main construction of the Sarsen stones and the bringing of the blue stones probably happened in a period of around 50 or so years. They could well have brought the stones from Wales at an earlier date and then had them in a monument elsewhere in the landscape and brought them to Stonehenge later. Moving one Sarsen stone would have taken probably something like 100 people just to move.
