The Sustainability Narrative Is Toxic
The word human is a derivative of the word humus, which is soil. When you look into the microbiome and the amount of genes that come into us through the viruses, bacteria, fungi and creatures of the soil, we are very influenced by that. And as we've disrupted that natural connection, we've become more and more unnatural to the point now we're sitting here philosophizing about what we're going to be in this sustainably sustainable, but non human existence. It's ultimately the sustainability narrative as it is usually deployed is toxic. Because it points us toward the wrong values. The value is not surviving on a personal level or a societal level. That's not the highest value.
