The Glory of David

For 500 years, the patina covering David's body has been composed of a combination of Florentine dust and the detreus of 100 million tourists coughing and shuffling before him. We who bear the image of God have taken this man of stone and given him a dusting of flesh. How much more will we who are bound for glory shed the limits and imperfections of these perishable frames for bodies which will forever bear up under the eternal weight of glory?
