Major subsequent uprisings by jews in cyrene, cyprus and alexandria showed there was indeed scope for anti roman rebellion in the diaspera too. The hebrew prophets had one and only one point of reference, their people and their nation. Whereas the early greek poets had had several, of which their nation was not one.
