Domestication of Animals

Humans appear to have domesticated dogs long before other animals. May be around 30 thousand years ago. We don't see any instances of the domestication of bears and elephants, though. This is because not every wild animal is a suitable candidate for domestication. It would be no good trying to domesticate aggressive animals such as bison or wart hogs,. Animals more suitable for domestication needed to be somewhat docile in their behavior. The animals that had bred into an animal quite unlike its wild relative were selectively bred.
