We Can't Do Anything if the Cost of a Gallon of Fuel Goes Up by 60 Cents
The cost of a gallon of fuel goes up by like 60 cents, we just crumble or paralyze. We are so reliant on this one fossil fuel that decades, centuries, of american history, are shaped by oil. And it doesn't even have to be this way. Republicans will defend that system, not because it's good but because those same companies use those windfall prophets to donate to their campaigns. It's not rocket science. So if ever there was an excuse to transition renewables, this should be it.
