Is There a Connecting Segment in Nephrology?

I always thought every nefron had its own corticl collecting tubule and medullary collecting tubula. This is news to me, but it makes it clear that they all meet up at a collecting duct or tubua through these connecting segments. I think for intor teaching purposes, usually, especially if you're thinking about early learners like medical students, it's easier to think of them separately and just think of a single unit. Please, don't be upset the connecting segment, and simply do the distilgaml tubule, if you will, and then do the cells that feature in the collect.
