The Power of Committed Action

Psychological flexibility is being able to bring your whole self into the situation. And then organizing your behavior in a way that your habits become larger and larger integrated patterns organized around your values, which we call committed action. That set of processes predict more things, longitudinal, more things over longer periods of time than any other thing that I know of in psychology. They can be moved. It's not like, you know, people have this personality, get that or other personality, get this. It's something that you can focus on and change, you can learn and how to interact with the world in that way.
