The Theory of Superconductivity

Until 1986, we had this Bardine Cooper Shreephin BCS theory that Nigel's described. But they found a new material which superconducted at 30 degrees above absolute zero. This had a number of implications and it seemed to transform technology. It also put a big question mark over the BCS theory because you couldn't get high temperature superconductivity experimentally - again, this wasn't predicted. So, what does that say to you?
