The Cost of District Energy

It's very difficult to bring down the cost through any sort of efficiency of scale. We have in total in the world, I've seen numbers of 16 exojoules. So that's a tiny bit of total energy supplied by district heating and district cooling as a part of the total heat demand. But at this stage, heating and cooling overall makes up half of final energy consumption in the world. It's an important number to bear in mind.
