The Ghost Army and the Nazis

Operation Bettenborg was only meant to last for three days, but the real unit it was supposed to cover for was held up. The visual deception unit painted the vehicles with the insignia of the unit they were impersonating. They even created fabric patches with the colours of the unit which were carefully sewn onto their uniforms. Sometimes the ghost army soldiers would encounter locals who might pass information to the Nazis. This meant each man had to create a full backstory for himself.
