Judaism abandoned the death penalty two thousand years ago, which was 17 centuries before the enlightenment. These are internal dialectics within religion itself as it realizes that the more we mature, the more we re interpret our text. I've just come from a conversation with younger british school kids in their late teens who have been, bya large, ing good things about religion and community. But i really don't want to challenge you too much on that. And of course, to me, natue is what you get when you get rid of religion. That's ensues.
