Introduction
The twin island nation of saltame and principe in the gulf of guinea is bejewelled with rich, dense forest. Islands were uninhabited until their discovery by portuguese explorers in the fifteenth century. In the 18 nineties, these crops were replaced by cocoa, and the islands became the biggest cocoa exporter in the world. A farmer says he can earn around 50 to 60 thousand dolras a year for his land.
