Benchmarking - I Love That Use Case
Without benchmarking, it's like I might just be adding code that's harder to understand and read. And then you can really figure out, is it worth it? Because both can be a free-ex improvement, especially stuff like in the web context. Like any query you make to the database, even the fastest one, takes at least a millisecond or something. So if you only do your improvements on like a microsecond level, no matter if it's 100 X or 200 X, it doesn't matter for the performance of your web application.
