How to Recognize Published Results

How is it that you use reading or writing to really pinpoint those results that belong in a paper? That's an interesting question. First, the idea distillation process and then the publishing process for the ideadistillation process. I do brainstorm with the people in my group. We have dedicated brainstorming sessions. And we just go back and forth, refine, and then push on writing a paper about it. Now, the second part, figuring out if something is publishable. That's a much more challenging aspect.
