The Kumbu Climbing Center
When he was a kid, 1975 or 76 was when the Southwest Face of Everest was climbed. Many of the Sherpa team that we worked with in 99 were from the village of Fort Se. The Kumbu Climbing Center started to increase vocational training by doing it in an avocational setting. For the Sherpa, it's work and for them it's a way to earn income.
