The Differences Between English and Germanic Languages

There are other indigenous languages spoken in this area. They were some of the first languages that european settlers had contact with. A lot of their words for things in the north american continent became the english words for the items as well. And what's also really interesting is that these languages had sort of structural grammatical similarities as well. So into european languages, for example, often have a grammatical gender distinction between masculine, feminine and neutor.
